And the system has only gotten worse. I'm surprised that doesn't happen to more kids. These days you can't even be certain of safeties.


I would have taken a gap year rather than go to BU


You say that, but she did transfer out after a year. I won't say where to, because its identifying combined with everything I already wrote.

Why would a bright, highly-academic kid go into the trades just because he/she did not get into a good college on the first try. I know kids with straight As and nearly perfect SATs who did not get in just because of bad luck. Don't give up -- just take a year off, do something productive, and try again.
