Another person pleasantly surprised by Las Vegas. Went first for someone's birthday, and again with another couple. I was admittedly a snob about it (the fakeness, not into designer shopping or celebrity chef restaurants, shows, etc.) but something about how surreal it was was what made it fun!

Africa, Southeast Asia, China, India (come to think of it all Asia really besides Russian part) - too unsanitary, filthy, gross and too many diseases.
Bucket list - Magellan straight, Macchu Pichu, Easter Island, New zealand, Papua New Guinea and Ayers Rock.

Not much interest in India. I'm sure parts of it are amazing, but it's not at the top of my list. If course it's a huge country though - I can picture someone in India saying "I don't want to visit the US"!

Had a manager at work try to send me to Riyadh for a week. As a solo female. I turned that one down.

London doesn't call to me, but I wouldn't turn it down.

I'm open to pretty much anyplace else. If I do GC again it'll be a rafting trip down the river, have heard wonderful things about that. Loved Alaska and Hawaii and South Africa, and parts of Mexico. Dying to visit Japan and Portugal.

Nz is amazing and has very diverse landscapes and is not overwhelmingly big.

A more enjoyable destination than Australia which is less geographically diverse and too big.

AZ is huge. There are Beautiful and barren parts.

Did you do a tour of any kind? Pretty interesting place. We did a bike tour.

Hawaii topped every carribean island or tropical destination I've been to & id love to go back.

I don’t understand the hype about Arizona. We visited years ago and I found the landscape ugly.

I never wanted to visit Ireland but was invited on a trip. Wow! I was blown away and loved it. I can’t wait to return.

I have not been to Hawaii, but there are so many places in the Caribbean I’d like to see or return to, it’s hard to justify the distance and expense of Hawaii.

I’m sure Hawaii is great but the Caribbean scratches that itch pretty well for me.

New Orleans has one of the most fascinating histories in America, with a mix of several different cultures having staked a claim there over the years. Very deep culture there. Port cities always have the best history.

Not the earlier PP but I consider myself very well traveled (both domestically and abroad) and I found New Orleans to be underwhelming and disappointing.

Sure there is some fascinating history but its also an incredibly segregated city crammed with clueless overweight (and mostly southern) tourists being served by the poor underclass of the city in mostly kitschy places. Sure you can find some authentic food and culture if you get outside of the French Quarter and there are some authentic pieces within it if you look but it is a lot of tourist crap and fried food and lousy drinks. And the city is also really dirty and not in an endearing way.

I’ve found things to enjoy and appreciate just about everywhere I’ve been, different reasons for different places. My two top favorites are probably Italy and Vietnam. I’ve been to Paris twice and it was nice but I don’t get what everyone else seems to get. It’s very nice but I didn’t get the magic. Same for Hawaii, I’ve been twice and it’s great but it’s a very long way way to go for a tropical beach. I wouldn’t pass up a free trip but wouldn’t go out of the way to go back.

Not a destination so much as a type of vacation. I can't stand the idea of a cruise ship with the forced interaction, bad food and noro virus. Mind you, I have been on a short trip (3 days) on a swanky private yacht in the Mediterranean and I get that as a goal if that's your thing. But not the big cruises.

Egypt is tough to travel in -- at least at the backpacker level, which is how I did it. I have traveled lots of places -- South America, Central America, Southeast Asia, Europe -- on a backpacker budget. I felt almost assaulted by Egypt (not literally, I was never in physical danger). Although I will say that our felucca trip on the Nile was a lovely way to see many of the temples and totally relaxing. But I don't feel the need to go back.

I also don't feel the need to go back to China. I was in Beijing for a week -- partly for work and partly for fun. I have never been so happy to get home nor so grateful to live in the U.S.

Vietnam, Philippines.

One of my favorite aspects of travel (and life) is food. I don't eat pork, and my impression is that a lot of the cuisine is pork-based.

I had a blast in Germany! Another place that surprised me was Egypt, but not in a good way. Honestly, I could have saved myself from this miserable trip by looking at Egyptian artifacts in the British Museum in London. Egypt was a dump and the men were extremely aggressive. So, no more Muslim countries for me.
