She's running unopposed, as far as I know. Run against her!! We need community members in these seats, not idiotic bureaucrats.
Judy Docca represents BOE District 1. If you live in that district, you're eligible to run for the District 1 BOE seat.
This link identifies the voting precincts for each BOE district:

Up for election this year are BOE seats for Districts 1, 3 and 5, as well as one of the At Large seats.

Advocate who called out Docca was named in article.
Lyda Astrove, a disability and special education advocate, on Wednesday called Docca’s apology “wholly unsatisfactory” because it was directed to MCPS staff members and her colleagues.
Astrove lives in Mont. County. I don't consider her to be an "outsider" or however that speaker wanted to express it. If you read about it, there were others who complained from MCCPTA. Many people on this thread said they emailed BOE/Docca.
Docca's comments were inappropriate. She has an Ed.D and 38 years in public education, including being a principal. The best she can come up with is a combination of "I'm old" and an apology directed to staff and her colleagues - NOT directed to families. She needs to really think about her choice of words and learn from this experience.

Anonymous wrote:Well since Docca has been on the BOE she has been no friend to special education students. She never supported the "burden of proof" efforts.
She voted to close the secondary learning centers, which provided supports to kids with significant LDs, and the only MCPS study done to date shows that those kids' performance has lagged as a result.
Time for her to retire from the board now.

Go out and buy a nice coloring book and I'm sure tomorrow you will find something shiny and new to be insulted about.
How many of you were asking for Obama to step down when he said his bowling skills ware so bad "It's like — it was like Special Olympics, or something."?
