For the last 10 years or so.
Oh noes. Another aggrieved white snowflake. White peoples just don't have enough privilege anymore and PP"s not going to take it anymore.
Whites, who will soon be a minority in this country, have decided that if every other group will use tribal, identity politics, then they will too. If democrats want to make politics totally tribal, then you can't expect republicans and whites not to fight back.
It's interesting you view people seeking rights and to be treat as equal humans as an attack.
Equal rights and "putting my group first" are two different things.
If you look at a policy or government expenditure first as "is this good for my group first" that has nothing to do with equality. If you want equality in front of the law, or equal treatment by the government I think many will stand together for it.
History shows that multi-ethnic empires rarely last long.
Bingo. It's so rediculous to claim that diversity is a "strength." It's one greatest weakness and why we will eventually be surpassed by China. It's a source of constant racial tensions, tribal politics, and discord.

This. Not ashamed one iota.
Black people aren't ashamed of being black. Latinos aren't ashamed of being Latino. Asians aren't ashamed of being Asian, etc.
And I'm not ashamed of being white. I won't participate in the silly guilt games that are in fashion right now.
? I don't know about other people, but as a minority married to a white person, I have never heard anyone say a white person should be ashamed to be white. You people are paranoid.
There is a post on this very thread about a white person who says she is uncomfortable about being white, and tells people she's multiracial instead.
It's not paranoia. The stupid is real.

History shows any great power doesn't last long. It has nothing to do with multi-culturalism, and everything to do with the fact that great powers just die out because they become lax, while others continue to strive.
When people start agitating for x group first rather than the country as a whole it leads to breakup.
Look at Spain, Italy, and Scotland, all of which have groups or entire nations with separate identities (and in some cases languages) that agitate for independence.
That means Trumpsters and Trumplandia will be the downfall of the US.
Last I checked, Scotland is still part of the UK. Catalonia is still part of Spain. Sure, there are those who want to secede, but it hasn't happened yet. Will it ever? Who knows. And last I checked, a part of the US wanted to secede too. It had nothing to do with "multi-culturalism" then.
And Italy? You are going to bring up the Roman Empire? You seriously cannot be comparing the Roman empire to the US.
You need a check up because your info is out of date.

People like you are upset because your racism is no longer going unchecked. Racism and prejudice isn't white. If you've been uncomfortable in recent years it's because you are bigot.
- white lady.
Yes! This is spot on.
- another white person

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:"It's OK to be white" is no more offensive than "black is beautiful."
It may be trolling, but that does not make it untrue. If you think it's "hate speech," something is seriously wrong with you. If you are in academia and you are thinking about making a big stink about this, don't be surprised when it backfires, and you discover how much of a bubble you have been living in. I'm sure the trolls did this specifically because they knew that the holier than thou SJW types would take the bait and embarrass themselves.
You are now equating "OK to be white" as a campaign spreading positive message about inner beauty. I agree the name alone is not offensive.
But it's not about beauty is it. It's about retaining hegemony by a regression to a time with a less equal playing field. As a white woman I have a problem with that.
