The losers on this thread who claimed that they can or will be able to attract women 20 years younger than them when they are in their 40s or 50s sound a lot like the guys who lie to themselves and claim this someday in college be popular when they're gigantic loser in high school.

NP. I have never seen this among educated people (a significant age disparity). Literally never. An age gap of 7 years or so, sure. But why on earth would a successful, intelligent, well-educated 20-something woman want to date a 40- or 50-something man? You are a completely different generation at that point.


Pretty much. If you want a gold digger she probably won't be someone interested in earning her own money.

I am a young woman and i see this dynamic all the time. My parents are divorced and my dad would do anything to get back with my mom. He "could" easily be dating 20 year olds, by DCUM logic, as he's wealthy, in good shape, etc. But my mom is it for him. And he, being a functionally healthy human being, has no interest in dating people a fraction of his age anyway.

By contrast, my mom has zero interest in him or really dating at all, though she does read romance novels and stuff, but I think that's partly because it's one of the only genres targeted and written by women, and less about her actually hoping for a man.

I think most women can take or leave men. The reverse is not true in the least. Men spend their time obsessively plotting how to get women.

39 year old divorcee, I am always taken aback when I see women clamoring to find a husband and get married. I want to yell from a mountain top that marriage is designed to benefit men. Period. Why would you want to enter into an arrangement that isn't designed with your best interest in mind?? I did all of the heavy lifting in my marriage and my husband still had the audacity to cheat. I left at 37, never looked back and my life couldn't be better. Meanwhile, my ex would do anything to get back what he had and has been trying to find my replacement with no success.

As a young woman, marriage is looking more and more like a racket and trap for women.

NP. Not in my experience. I'm 34, and most of the men I know from boarding school and college have thinning or receding hair. Many have either the beginnings of a paunch or that disgusting, sinewy cross fit look. Some, like my DH, still look great, but they are a minority. Office work does none of us any favors. As for personalities: I know some single men in their mid 30s who are normal, good guys, just as I know single women who are normal, good people. But I also know lots of single men who are single because they are immature/crazy/delusional/neurotic.

I think that's good advice. Men who want families want to marry women in prime childbearing years who are also interested in childbearing. This is the normal/healthy time to start a family. Pregnancies past age 35 are high risk.
