Hopefully, they fair better.
Interesting observation. I don't get that because Harry and Meghan don't seem tumultuous or volatile at all, just really happy and confident together. I don't think they have been angry the few times that the press has photographed them together. They seem grounded. JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette were caught fighting in Central Park, had other public tiffs and were known to have broken up more than once before they wed. He even purportedly spent the night before they died in a hotel after a spat - also from a Vanity Fair piece I think - before taking of to fly to Hyannis for Rory Kennedy's wedding.
I feel the same whirlwind vibe about it, not mature love, but more passion the lure of something new and exciting Bloomds fast and fades faster. There is also Jr and Harry are a lot a like in personality. Imoulsivity drawn to a woman that will direct them a bit like an older sibling or mother figure.
Meghan is like Carolyn in that I get a strong manipulative vibe ffrom her in that she is like Diana, but not unkind.

she's black and white. Which is why people are excited ignoring that she looks white and is for all purposes white identified. This is not Lupito N'yogo becoming a princess.
She looks like a tan white girl.
Minirities who pass for white have always had the easiest time assimilating.
I don't think she herself purposely passed for white at all. I believe her when she says she is proud of being biracial.
http://www.elleuk.com/life-and-culture/news/a26855/more-than-an-other/
Even her Suits character is presented as biracial with Wendell Pierce playing her father. Her other roles were so minor that ambiguity was less about "passing" than blink and you miss her.
It's not the character she plays that makes her white identified.
She keeps her hair straight reducing the chances she'll be instantly seen as biracial and/or part black.
She largely surrounds herself by white people.
She has not spoken out about black issues.
Considering she is biracial this makes sense.
People acting like this is a "win" for minorities or black people are wrong.
Yes. I know minorities like her. They are treated as, and think of themselves as "tan white girls." The historical issues people of color face do not apply to them because they do not look very different than white people. They wear their hair straight, only hangout with white people, dress like whites people, make white people cultural references.
When you ask them about race they say race isn't really a thing.
You guys do know that many biracial people have naturally straight hair right? As an actress, I'm sure she straightens her hair to get roles. Remember, white people are scared of AA/biracial natural hair. How do you guys know who she surrounds herself with? She states Serena Williams is one her closest friends. Serena maybe be having a baby with a white dude, but she stands for blackness all day long.
Also to prove you're black you have to speak out about black issues?
Do you guys speak out about "white" issues?
What else must one do to pass the black test?
Aw are your feelings hurt that somebody spoke the truth about your idol? FYI Serena is white identified too.
You know cause I got some free time, I'm going to play with you. In what world is Serena Williams "white identified"?
Is it her big butt?
Her CRIPT walking when winning Wimbledon?
Her donating over 3 million dollars to AA inner city tennis clubs?
Opening a school in Africa?
Is it because she wears weave?
Is it being a Jevoha's Witness?
Is it because she's worth over $150 million dollars?
I mean what is it?
In fact, please define what makes one "white identified"?
she has chosen to procreate with a white man, her daughter will l grow up predominately surrounded by white people/white culture and like her mother view blackness as a charitable cause. She likely like Meghan have a whit husband and so on any children from their and all of Serena's legacy and funds will mostly benefit white people. Live vicariously through Serena and Meghan all you want but don't for a second think they are doing anything to change anything for black people.

That's not saying much. Kate is very plain-faced.
Right? I love Kates style and she seems very warm but lets face it her face is NOT attractive.
Oh, I disagree. I think Kate is beautiful. Her face is so pretty and I'd die for her hair and legs.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:She looks so old in the face. I would have put her at 40ish
Well, 40 is hardly "old," but she is 36.
She looks way older than 36. I think Kate is much more beautiful than Meghan. I actually think Meghan is homely. But good luck to them...
omg no way. only a racist would say something like that.
Meghan Markle is an objectively beautiful woman.
Kate Middleton was a pretty college student.
Huuuuge difference between the two.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Interesting how Kate never had a voice and Megan's already on magazine covers. Something tells me she will be the new Diana.
+ 1
Good point. Kate still trips over her words when she gives speeches. Meghan seems much more assured and confident even though she's not even officially engaged yet.

If it were going anywhere she would not have talked.
she'll be gone by Christmas
I'm certain this was approved by the palace. Otherwise she would be dumped already
Looking more and more like they are leading up to an engagement announcement, as all the insiders are saying
This was definitely approved by the palace. In fact, it may have been pushed/encouraged by the palace.
Meghan isn't promoting anything in this interview- her show, any side business, not even any philanthropy. There's not even much meat to the interview section of the article, other than the quotes about Harry. This seems to be a preapproved first stage in the media rollout of their engagement.
She is dating the spare not the heir. The palace is not concerned about her. The Queen and the family will be polite but they won't interfere. She really doesn't matter as much as Kate who bore the current heir and spare.
When was the last time yuh read anything about Princess Anne or the Prines Andrew or Edward? Harry is in their situation.
The palace is concerned about her, as they actually released a press release about her protecting her, which is practically unheard of from them.
Prince Harry is a major star in GB, much more desired than his brother. You are as clueless as you are confident
"The Palace" refers to a statement by Queen Elizabeth II. The communications secretary to Prince Harry issued a statement about Meghan Markel, not a press release.

Not the same as a VF article. I'll wait.
Did you not read the actual press release in the Elle article that was issued by Kensington Palace, with Harry's royal "H" featured prominently at the top? Here's a link from the official royal UK site:

Yes honey. I did read that. I'm waiting for the I love her article. You got that?

You're right, it's not the same as a VF article. It hold much more weight than a VF article because it's on freaking Kensington Palace letterhead.

Most actresses are washed up by 40 anyway, so she doesn't have too many more years. Maybe she'll get a big movie after this. Good for her! And good for Harry! I think they are a cute couple.
