But I bet they have stock in Tesla and Nissan. Nissan is bringing fleets of Leaf electric cars to China. Next big thing.

And if you don't believe the models, have you noticed that the summers are getting hotter ? And that this has been consistently happening around the world?

But you guys keep saying "weather doesn't equal climate".

So which is it? Is weather climate, or not?

If it's hot in the summer that's proof of global warming, according to you. But if it's cold in the winter, well that's just the weather. (Or also proof of global warming, according to leading moonbats).

Your argument is utterly absurd. No matter what happens, it's all evidence to prove your argument.

This is why ordinary people don't trust libs.

"Summers getting hotter" is different than "this summer is hot" you dolt.

We save $200 a month in gas and our electric bill has not really been impacted, especially since there are so many free charging stations. I love driving by the gas station and watching the poor suckers getting gas or waiting in line.

Good for you.

But why did you need a federal rebate?

I dont understand why Republicans hate electric cars. Here are the facts.

1) Electric cars are faster than gasoline cars (Reseach ludicrous mode in model S)
2) We are not dependent on foreign oil
3) They are manufactured in Freemont CA, so jobs!
4) The batteries are made in NV so more jobs
5) The tax credits given for electric cars are nothing compared to the tax reliefs given to Oil companies.
6) Most people plug their car into the super charger for 15 mins and get about ~60 to 70% range(Almost like filling gas at a gas station)
7) You plug in your car at home and wake up every day to 200 miles plus of range.
8) They dont pollute and are smooth and fun to drive.

It boggles my mind when I hear another American not supporting this concept.

I hate them because they don't sell without subsidies, which means you're hitting up the tax payer to lower the cost so people will buy them.
When you do that, the money wasn't spent where the consumer decided, but rather where a third party decided. That starves other industries of money because money goes artificially to electric cars. That causes artificial dislocations in the market.

Hey, I like guns. I believe everyone should own one. Should I force your tax dollars to go to buy one for everyone? If so, I can guarantee you'll get less money in your pay check. That means you'll go out to eat less, go to fewer movies or fewer sporting events or whatever. These big decisions to take money from people because you like the idea have bigger ramifications.

If electric cars are awesome, they should sell themselves without any subsidies.

There should be no subsidies for oil or electric cars.

I have had a Prius as a rental, but I would not buy one with my hard earned money. Why ask the tax payer to?

The Germans are moving to all electric, and as CAFE standards go higher, electrics will be the only way to meet MPG/emissions requirements since US diesel emissions requirements are insane.

Their country is tiny and they have a train system that goes everywhere.

Our country is huge and trains don’t work well outside cities. Big diff. I loved taking the train in Germany and around Europe and spent my honeymoon doing so but it’s not feasible here.

My gosh thank you. I am a conservative and I buy and use whatever I like. I don’t care who likes what. I don’t boycott and I watch tv and movies if I like them and don’t care what the talent thinks about anything.

My gosh. Unclench.

They’re a luxury market niche vehicle masquerading as a mass market solution for a real problem.

In addition, the performance of the vehicles is fundamentally different from combustion vehicles. Electrics compete with combustion on a very narrow and tailored basis. Once you include the full spectrum of functionality for combustion vehicles, there is no comparison: I’m not going camping in an electric or moving any kind of real gear.

I can’t stand the double standards: subsidies for any industry are bad (we shouldn’t give electrics a pass), the environmental damage can be just as bad with electrics, just different form, and electrics one area where subsidizing the wealthy seems to be okay.

Finally, I don’t like the hype. The case for “electrics” as the future of transport depend on the improvement of technology that is not a given, the market is moving to heavier, crossovers and SUVs which kills electrics, and—Tesla at least—is delivering these vehicles like IT companies deliver software: send out a substantially less than final product and just fix issues later with a software patch. By contrast, while far from perfect, combustion vehicles are at least delivered in substantially final form.

I’ll go so far as to say that if electrics could match combustion performance pound for pound, I’d be happy to buy one up to and including a 10% cost of ownership premium.

I dislike electrics because they don't actually cut down on pollution, unless the generation itself is clean. Likewise the battery manufacturing process itself is not clean either, and the recycling process is actually more dirty.

As a car enthusiast I hate them because of lack of road feel, and excessive weight.
