Cops were called, they were charged with following too closely, failure to avoid a crash. I was never charged with anything, even when the people who hit me told the police officer I did it intentionally. I said I braked as hard as I could because I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye about to run into the road. I can't help if they couldn't stop, it wasn't my concern.
The two times they hit me, my car was damaged beyond value ("totaled", because it was a crappy older car and not worth anything) and I used my PIP insurance to run up the bills for physical therapy. I wasn't hurt, but I wanted to run the bill up, because in Maryland, the typical settlement for an at-fault accident is about 3x the medical
So for one crash I got $36,000 and the other I got $22,000, minus 34% to my attorney. So I made out ok.
I have a nice car now, so I probably won't do it now, but if I'm ever driving a beater again, I'll do it if I'm provoked.
You are a psychopath.
Psycho or not, she makes a compelling case for not tailgating people, lolz!
It's also sort of amusing that people who claim to dislike tailgaters and aggressive driving get absolutely crazy angry when someone admits they lash out against them. This makes me think that maybe the people condemning this woman for going after tailgaters are actually tailgaters or aggressive drivers themselves, and are furious that someone might dare do that to them one day when they're tailgating someone.
The ladies doth protest too much...

People are rude, deliberately ungracious, etc. I get that this happens everywhere, but in general it just feels more stressful and unpleasant around DC. It might be just a higher number of lawyer/government assholes ruining it for everyone.
24YO here and people in general are just ruder and meaner in this area. I feel like I've become a nastier person just from living here. People suck.
+1
DC pizzing contest. A bunch of grown adults acting like children.

Here, in just a few months of living in Nova I have been followed twice/aggressively tailgates. I didn't even cut people off. One time I was driving the speed limit and the other time I didn't move fast enough when the light turned. It wasn't even during rush hour.

Considering I wasn't really even hurt the two previous times I did it, it's pretty unlikely that I'll be killed the next time I do it.

But thanks for wishing DEATH on someone who won't put up with bullying from other drivers.
That really says a lot about you. A lot.
I hope you're tailgating me one day, and I'm driving another beater of a car. Because you'll end up paying me too, just like the two other asshats.

He was tailgating me, I stomped on my brakes, which really made him mad. Then he passed me, and cut in front of me and stopped. He got out of his truck and started walking back towards my car, gesturing for me to get out and fight him. So I started reversing, and backing up. I backed up like 150 feet, slowly, with him following me and cussing at me the whole way. Then I put the car in gear and pulled left, wide around him, trying to get away. As I passed him, he punched my side mirror and broke it.
That REALLY pissed me off, and I noticed his driver door was open on his truck. So I aimed right for it and hit it, folding it forwards against the front of his truck.
In hindsight, this turned out to be brilliant, because he couldn't follow me now, since his truck was undrivable because of the door hanging forwards.
If you're ever in this situation, do what I did.
Except call the cops afterwards, because I never did.
