Is all MCPS like that?
Like what?
I was reading an article about how a private shool in CA had similar issues. This issue exists in almost every school district.

"“Passing the trash” occurs when a teacher accused of sexual misconduct is allowed to leave a school – through a confidentiality or separation agreement - and quietly seek employment at another school without the new employer being alerted to the allegations, ...
Only five states -- Washington, Oregon, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Connecticut -- have laws banning passing the trash..."
What is your point? It happened at a private school in CA so parents should accept that it is happening here in MCPS?
No thanks.
Do you have reading comprehension issues? Where did I say we should just accept it? Again, point is that it happens *everywhere*.
Do you have stupidity issues?
So what if it happens everywhere? This particular incident and the Rockville HS rape case happened here in MoCo. Many of the posters on this board have kids in MCPS. So this matters quite a bit to us, because it could be our kids.
How is that so hard to understand? Terrible that it happened in CA also, but you could always start another thread on sexual abuse issues sound the country.
Do you not read the top of the thread first? The first PP stated "Is all MCPS like that"? I asked, "Like what?.... and stated this issue happens everywhere, even in expensive all girl private schools, so what is so different about MCPS compared to other school districts?
That PP is assuming that MCPS is worse than other districts. My point is that is no different.

However, in this country White men in power - White House, Fox News etc..get away with sexually assaulting women. In MCPS, the race is swept under the rug when it is a White person. If this man was a Hispanic, Black, Asian, Muslim ...there would have been a strong backlash.
Now, someone is posting that it would have been ok for a 57 yr old married White Christian man to assault a 17 year old woman if she was not a student but his neighbor? And that this would have been a relationship but not an assault?
Wow! What a crock of White entitlement.

I wonder who inspired this old gross White man to go after a young woman of his daughter's age? Where did he learn that it is ok to sexually assault women? Oh wait, as a society we are ok with this.
Our tolerance only diminishes when the suspect is non-White!
How do you know that he is White? In one of the articles, his wife had a Hispanic last name so maybe he is Hispanic.
I honestly don't think it matters, but since you appear to be fixated on his race.
And there is a huge thread on it, so I'm thinking any parent in MCPS is not okay with it.

Wow! Perhaps it's because his photo was in the paper and on most of the news sites. You seem to be the only one fixated on his race. I also don't recall anyone bringing up the defendants race. Many, many posters mentioned their immigration status and country or origin but not their origin.
By the way it was not a sexual assault. Had he had been her next door neighbor it would not have been a crime. Only because he held a position of authority made it a crime.

Doesn't state how he managed to get hired when already having a record.
It's unclear whether he had "a record." The menacing charge was a misdemeanor and I don't think those are included in the application form.
They SHOULD be, and it seems clear to me that he would have been in much more legal trouble had he not been a NYPD officer at the time, but if we assume that misdemeanor was his only offense, I can see why MCPS didn't pick it up in a background check.
