OP I know what happened. Your ex is uncreative and doesn’t know how to please a woman so he borrows ideas you gave him when together.

My ex never traveled or got me gifts or anything even though I bore 3 children and raised them and cooked and did everything I was supposed to as a wife. I get to observe his new girlfriend, by all accounts my look-alike, get treated to things I would’ve liked when we were married - dates, outdoor adventures, vacations, etc.

I have been jealous but not because she’s with him. It’s more of a - why didn’t he do this when we were together, our relationship and our kids would’ve had better lives? But the reality is he’s the same person and I actually feel sorry for her because once he takes her for granted like he did me, I’m sure it will wear off. And she is, as others mentioned, getting my “leftovers”. If I were her I’d be terrified that he was dating someone who looked so much like his ex!

The best way to get over feelings of jealousy for past dreams is to create new dreams for yourself. You can bring yourself to Jamaica without a man. You can travel and create new anniversaries for yourself, like your divorce-aversery or something untied to his existence at all. Make yourself happy and forget them, that’s the best revenge.

He is probably doing it so he won't get your anniversaries mixed up. Be glad you are out of the marriage!

Everyone in DC gets married Columbus Day weekend. It's the same date every 5-6 years.

That’s very different from planning a wedding for the same date as your wedding anniversary w your ex. I’m sure he wasn’t even thinking of your bday at all 9+ months before which is when he and his fiancée conceived…

It sounds to me he’s fully in revenge mode for some reason and obviously wants to rub the new relationship in your face. After I broke things off with my ex (thankfully we had not married) did something similar to this—traveled with new woman on a trip I had been planning, bought her some exact clothing items I had talked about, and posted photos of them at my favorite restaurant with a tagline “so glad to finally introduce Cucina to Jo.” It was at that point I realized what a bullet I dodged. He also kept sending his mail to my house for many months after we broke up (they were new subscriptions).

I’d just block him and move on, OP.

He did the date and location on purpose. She needs to let it go and stop talking to him. Therein lies the bigger problem, she is too involved with their life for some reason.

OP here, I'm not involved in their life, he called me and disclosed this information. I didn't ask him.

NP. OP, this annoyance should be a reminder why you divorced him. You made the right decision. Take some steps to move on. Change phone number, email, etc. Repeat daily, "you are dead to me, now" until you forget.
