Subject: Georgetown Visitation Lacrosse- Recruiting Practices
Part of not posting may be due to early recruiting--a number of freshmen are now orally committed to top colleges but can't make their HS varsity teams. Doesn't look great for the committed players (or for the elite colleges) to have their names posted on JV roster.

As does NCS. So what girls schools are you referring to PP?

Holy Child: no rosters
Bryn Mawr School (Baltimore): no rosters
Winsor (Boston): password protected rosters
Spence (New York): no rosters
Brearley (New York): no rosters
Marlborough (Los Angeles): no rosters
Miss Porter's School (Connecticut): no rosters
Emma Willard School (New York): roster has first names only

Certain sports at Visitation aggressively recruit players that are at other private schools (for example K – 12). Technique seems to rely on using Visitation parents or friendly club coaches with ties to Visitation to make the first move. Again, to be clear, this is not talking about recruiting kids from K-8 schools ( which they do as well but is not problematic) but targeting students attending peer schools that go through high school.

Your facts are misguided...period You are naive to think that Visi does not do anything that other schools do...
Visitation has in fact recruited players from other schools.. (My Daughter)and countless teammates of hers
And people do in fact attend visitation for free...(Former student of mine) (daughters teammate) (neighbor)

You are incorrect on every count. Visitation has not "recruited" anyone from other schools, public or otherwise, to pitch and catch for the softball team. The enrollment cap at the school rarely even allows the school to accept a transfer student, especially during junior or senior years. And there is no one who receives a "free" education at Visi.

Visitation will be down this year. Too much instability from the front office. Saints will dominate the ISL once again and I could maybe see Holton being able to run with the Saint for one half of play.
The Potomac girls lacrosse program has also been on the rise.
Visitation for as big as a school as they are, should be a lot better.

SSSAS picked up the coach who was let go, and the SSSAS community is thrilled to have her. Hope the new Visi coaches get the support they need from the admin. SSSAS has the benefit of a great head of school and athletics department. Cant wait to meet on the playing field - its always a great game between two top teams - both teams represent their schools in both skill and sportsmanship.
