If guys had their druthers and didn't give a shit about societal expectation, men wouldn't get married. WE'RE not dragging you to the altar.
On what planet is that happening?
Not all women want to get married, but there are many who desperately want to get married (see the other thread by a woman complaining that her boyfriend of three years has not proposed). I cannot think of one man that I know who was pressuring the woman to marry him.

Ha? What kind of woman wants to be a fat and lonely?
Yes, she looks so lonely here with her longtime SO of 20+ years, how sad for her.![]()

Lonely? You wish. She's hobnobbing with the rich and famous while you are tweezing your husband's ear hairs.
More likely OpRah spends more time compulsively eating in private than hobnobbing with the celebrity elite. Maintaining that body mass requires her to shovel food in her face almost constantly.
Yep, and that "body mass" made her 40 million dollars when she signed up with weigh talkers. Talk about a WIN!!!!

How great is Oprah when she clogs the toilet?

I knew that 2 weeks into the relationship. My independence isn't disappearing because I found someone. We support each other emotionally because we have the option and that's what we want to do. He's my best friend and we have sex together. I rely on him for those things.

Is it the older women on dcum that are still trying to drill old fashioned ideas of dependency on men into younger women's heads?
I find it so backwards and regressive. Let's not stop our young women from living happy independent lives where they can build a nice for themselves with or without a man!
