I agree. I cannot listen to MLK. Voice grates me. Also there is a man on “the indicator”. His voice is also painful to listen to. I think he is Australian. Just can’t listen to these voices.

For some reason the way Soraya Sarhaddi Nelson says her name really bugs me. She draws it out for an awkwardly long time. It’s like “Soraya Sarhadddiiii Nelllson.”

New poster, and reviving this thread because I still can't stand her voice, unfortunately. I thought I'd get used to it.

We had a neighbor kid growing up with that same vocal fry, we kids called it "a bubble in his throat". Never would I have expected someone with that voice impediment to be a radio host. Just, no.

As much as I love NPR, her voice is so distracting I can barely listen to it any more.

Agree on ML Kelly. Completely aggravating vocal fry. Doesn’t that hurt? Imagine after years your vocal chords are scarred

Just pretend she's Kermit the Frog, it makes it a little bit better.

I like ML Kelly and Zoe Chace both... I think of their voices as distinctive and interesting rather than annoying.

But yeah, Audie Cornish is my fave.
