Your post makes no sense, but I'm guessing you're trying (and failing) to make a nasty jab about now restaurants and bars don't make someone have a life. Well I fail to see how sitting in traffic is preferable than being in a place where you can enjoy yourself, meet new people, eat good food, and have fun. I'm sorry that your existence is so bleak you want to shit all over a woman who wants to enjoy her youth. And FWIW, as a mom with young kids in DC, I love that I can walk to bars and restaurants with my husband during our precious alone time together instead of spending an hour driving somewhere worthwhile. So it's always preferable to be in the city in my opinion.
Hey, no judgement from me here!Sorry I made you so angry at your perfect life in the city with all the restaurants.
BTW, I'm not in the area, and our food beats yours every day of the week and twice on Sunday. But you go ahead and keep assuming that people want to do other things than eating out![]()
What are you even trying to say? I never said my life was perfect- that was your words.
And why are you on a DC forum if you're not from the area? Go away loser.
Lady, get help. Or go to a restaurant already.
Wow. I feel bad that your life is so sad you spend it on an anonymous forum of a place that you do not live, insulting people you do not know.

Neither way is particularly convenient and each leaves us feeling drained, exhausted and frustrated for various reasons before we get to the office or before we get home. It takes us at least one hour each way and we usually get home around 8pm or 9 pm since he works later than I do and since I do not have a car and have developed claustrophobia I do not take the metro.
We get home around 8 or 9 pm, we're tired grumpy and exhausted and then we whip up dinner, watch netflix and crash.
I am NOT okay with this. Since our lease is up late April, I want us to move to the city. My dh has an irrational hate for the city and is perfectly content living in Fairfax. I have compromised and say we can live in Arlington even though that will still be too far from where we work. He says any move is going to be the worst idea since he loves and is happy in his current location.
We got into a majot fight about it this morning and now I don't even want to speak with him because what person in their right mind would willingly live SO FAR AWAY from work and spend 2+ hours of their life each day stuck in traffic???
Okay, if you are leaving work at 8pm and getting home at 9pm are you stopping for groceries. I'm sorry. I live in Fairfax and if I leave at 8pm I am home by 8:30pm tops. Now you just sound like you are complaining. That being said, 7pm is a little trickier, but you guys should be using HOV so you STILL shouldn't encounter traffic most of the ride.
An hour really isn't a soul sucking commute, there are people who commute much longer and who basically just sit in traffic. If you think an hour is a long ride I think you should count your blessings or rethink your job. You may also want to leave work earlier or telework.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Fairfax is soul sucking even if your commute is only an hour. OP, just start looking for apartments. Find one in Arlington and tell him that you're moving there. Don't discuss it to death. Just ACT.
Because that sounds like a great decision to make unilaterally. Arlington is more expensive than Fairfax. Can OP afford the actual cost of living closer in? Her DH could have reasons beyond being a "hermit" for living in Fairfax. OP wants validation.
