No way. It's a matter of social development for him. There's being cuddly and then there's being developmentally weird. 13 is definitely a key year. The body starts changing. You want him to learn the value of privacy. I'm not sure any teen boy who is well adjusted emotionally wants to sleep next to his mom at night???!

My 13 yo DD has an anxious temperament and she comes in my bed for 15-20 minutes every morning before getting ready for school, which is very draining and stressful to her. She literally wakes up 20 minutes earlier in order to be able to do this, it’s that important to her.

While I don’t mind it at all, I just worry about her.

This thread was so creepy to read! I am from a South American country and this is very normal for us! When DH is traveling, my 17 yo DD and my 14 DS sometimes want to sleep in my (king size) bed after watching a movie or something. My only rule is that it can't be both at the same time, they have to take turns otherwise it gets uncomfortable. If I am sleeping next to one of them I barely notice, there is a lot of space! I haven't imagined in a million years that some people find this inappropriate!

Same. We do still watch tv in bed as a family once in a while but no sleeping.
