Sounds really immature, and a marriage already falling apart if you're checked out. Might as well start packing your bags. I still don't get why grown men would do this rather than deal with whatever problems the couple is having. Honestly, I think some men are just addicted to gaming and/or just overgrown tween/teen boys. Either way, doesn't sound appealing in a grown man.
