Nah... Bernie is naive enough to believe we can have a "democratic" socialism. You see, everything he knows about socialism, he learned from books. He never experienced it IRL. He is idealistic, and his idealism is attractive to young people. But young people get older and learn that this world is far from ideal.

Oh please. If a church is willing to marry gays, more power to them. What I hate is the fucking law suits. I really really hate people who actively seek out trouble, then litigate. Hate them.

I certainly can. The issue for me is that many gay weddings have become religious marriages.

You can't carve out a special exception for anchor baby since anchor and baby when used separately are acceptable words. It doesn't work that way. It's a racist, derogatory term. Period.


I would never say the above terms, much less type them. Anchor baby is not in the above category. There is not debate about the acceptability of your words above. There is not debate that FU is a gross swear word. There is debate about anchor baby. It is a politicized term, and last I heard-it was actually acceptable in the United States for people to disagree over politics. The point is if we focus on parsing every word with nuance to the 9th degree we may end up not being able to 'talk' at all. Except in FUs, which I guess you don't find offensive. You seem very comfortable with the picking and choosing if you are the one doing it?



There was a debate two generations ago. You think you are different from the backwards people who said "wetback"? You aren't. You just grew up in a different generation. You have accepted that wetback is wrong, but you cannot see how you are repeating the same bigotry.

It's an amazing book. My mom read it to me when I was young. She experienced Soviet turmoil and repression and she passed along vigilance and an appreciation for freedom to her children. It's up there with Animal Farm and 1984. It makes you think. I hope you will read it if you haven't--Thurber is a gentle author, but speaks powerfully and presciently.


I plan to put it into my collection. Thank you for the tip.

* People who are pro-choice are anti-woman.
* People who believe in traditional marriage are anti-gay.
* People who believe in enforcing our borders are anti-immigrant.
* People who believe that individuals should strive to support their families without assistance of government (unless there are extenuating circumstances) are against the poor.

Just so you know, I AM a woman who is pro-choice, just attended a gay wedding (although I believe in traditional marriage), and have many friends who immigrated here (legally, mind you), and I volunteer and provide financial support for those in need (to help these folks get back on their feet).

Go read what you just typed, and replace Hillary with Trump...because everything you just accused her of being applies to him as well.

You don't think Trump thinks he's better than everyone else? That's hilarious.

Here's what I don't understand: why don't trump supporters realize that the president isn't the same as a corporate CEO? Politics are important. You can't move anything on the hill without the politics. The president is not a CEO, not a boss, and not a dictator.
