My DW suffered years of depression, starting in earnest sometime after the birth of DS #2. Our sex life went to near zero, then zero when she went on meds which helped some. By definition, we were in a sexless marriage. She was a SAHM, so no income of her own. If you have never been in this situation, you have no idea how the loneliness eats at your soul.

I suppose the absolutists would say the far more moral choice would be to divorce my wife and break up my home rather than find an outlet outside my marriage. I would have asked for sole custody because my DW's mental illness could spike to the point she would be unable to care for both kids, at least transiently. Or I should suffer a lack of intimacy for the rest of my days.
