My husband was 38, too, but I think he is one of the oldest first-time dads among our friends and acquaintances who are parents. Most guys we know had their first kid by 35, DC and non-DC friends included.
I was 36 when our baby was born and was the second-oldest first-time mom among our friends (the oldest was 40 or 41).
