I was disappointed to. If the only townspeople are now the First Generation (everyone else in stasis) why would they need reckonings? Why would anyone try to escape fully knowing what's beyond the fence? The public hangings they portrayed don't make any sense.
SOME adults had to stay behind, right? Otherwise, who would be managing the hospital and giving Amy her nurse training?
I get that they were going for a Twilight Zone feel to the very ending, but it just didn't work for me. At all. Like, why put the adults in stasis at all? Are they planning to wake them up? That seems like it would pose more problems than it would be worth--they'd be back at the start with the rebellion.
Well it depends on the actors and their contractual negotiations. I don't expect they will get the script lined up until they know who is on board. I liked most of the adults anyway so Im' happy.

I was devastated by the ending. While it was well done (like the entire series), it just seemed so hopeless and it sounds like the book had a much more promising ending. I just can't wrap my head around how poor Ben is going to get out of that mess.

I assumed they "awakened" some of group C, perhaps, and followed the Pilcher model of not telling them anything. There weren't enough teens to keep the whole town running, right? Just a guess.

At the end the townspeople decided to all go back into stasis for 80,000 years in hopes that the Abbies would either die out or evolve.

I loved the creepy ending of the TV show.
