+1000. The clear facts of the case do not need defending; they speak for themselves. Legally, he was within his legal rights to defend himself from being killed. So just let that go already.

I'm not defending Zimmeramns actions before that, or since then; the guy seems (again - it's just my impression from the distorted media) seems to be a magnet for trouble. I also agree that he should not have followed Martin that night. But he did, and that was not a crime. Bad judgement perhaps, but not a crime.

However, bashing someone's head into the concrete while on top of them IS a crime - it's called attempted murder. You cannot minimize that by calling it "getting his ass kicked" as a PP put it. If someone attempts to mirder you, it is permissible to use deadly force to defend yourself. The facts back Zimmermans account of what happened. Case closed on that.

Stalking is also a crime. Zimmerman's stalker also seems to have attempted to murder Zimmerman. He appears to be the victim of stalking here. Why are the progressives on this board so desperate to blame the victim in this case?

Notice how hard he's been trying to land himself in jail? He's just been lucky that the women in his life haven't wanted to press charges.

I don't know what happened between Martin and Zimmerman and in the end who was the most aggressive at the point at which Zimmerman shot Martin. But we have plenty of evidence that Zimmerman doesn't know how to keep from escalating a fight to the point where it becomes violent. I haven't read the details about his relationship with the guy who shot him (or *at* him as the case may be) but it would not surprise me at all if Zimmerman hadn't escalated the conflict to the point where a nutter thinks it's okay to shoot at him.

Grown ups know how to defuse a potentially violent situation. George Zimmerman is not a grown up and has failed to learn from his mistakes. I have no sympathy for him.

Agreed. I've attended vigils for murder victims. The people speaking have always condemned the violence and called on individuals in the community to behave better. But I'm guessing the pp wasn't at those vigils.

+1. It is funny that some Whites who rely on the media for info are quick to assume that Blacks are not doing anything in our own communites. On DCUM, I have offered many times to take some of these people with me to some of the events and things I do in the community if they are sincerely interested. Only one taker. And folks do not seem to graps that there a lot of things being done in the community and that violence and teen pregnancies are down in a lot of these communities. So this leads me to believe that the Black on Black issue is a deflective talking point to many. They do not really care about what goes on in these communites, they only want to attempt to win an argument.
