You had no idea this was a business - the baker is at fault too. I think ppl are being way too hard on OP. OP graciously admitted she was wrong without being defensive and paid. I think she's a class act.
OP DID know---baker has a FB that list prices!
Which she found out AFTER the party and she friended her on Facebook. I still maintain that if baker expected to be paid, she should have said the charges up front.

1. OP's acquiantance offers to make cake pops for a party and brings them
2. OP LATER finds out said acquiantance has a business BUT never asked OP to pay.
3. OP PAYS acquiantance and then later says "hey i paid you".
AWKWARD

PP again who couldn't agree with you more. Yeah, OP, you probably could have asked her what she charged when she said she'd make the cake pops, but she's very passive for someone running her own business. Again, if you want to be paid, you have to be comfortable asking for money.
Also completely agree. Don't offer to make something for someone and fail to mention you charge for it!!
Totally agree.
I don't think OP was in the wrong at all, but she definitely did the right thing.
The pile-on criticism was definitely uncalled for.

Anonymous wrote:OP here. I think I should be ok. I messaged her that I pay paled her the payment and I really appreciated her hard work and she said... "thank you so much, look forward to future parties." So i don't think she will be insulted I paid her. Looking back it was silly for me to think otherwise.
