DH showed me this list and told me he is choosing a car from it, hence the Jetta. I did not see any car on the list I like and I told him so.

OP you are a moron or a snob. We've had a VW Jetta for 11 years. It has never given us a day of trouble. We've done the regular maintenance and that is it. It is a solid car for the money. It is also heavier than the cars in that category so it is a bit safer. You are pushing for the GLK because you think it looks better to drive an expensive car. SUVs aren't the best cars for beginning drivers. You want the GLK because of what it says about you sitting in the driveway. Do your poor husband a favor and divorce him. You are horrible.

I am with OP on this. Her DH is being cheap. He is looking to sacrifice the safety of his daughter to save a few bucks. Keep pressing for the GLK OP. Make him bend to your will.

Please educate yourself on cars. Your husband, who may or may not be wrong on many things, is not wrong on his car choice. Japanese cars are EXCELLENT quality for money. VW is good too. Generally reliable and inexpensive to repair. Mercedes is a luxury in the sense that they have expensive maintenance. American brands are usually not as good, but at least they are inexpensive. Your teen needs to learn on a smaller and more manageable car that's safe, not in a truck, minivan or SUV at first.

As for the rest, while I understand you may have long-running complaints about your husband, I advise you to control yourself better. Being this angry is not good for you or anybody else and will not resolve any problems.

I agree. This was a bizarre comment. Americans as a whole cling to a Puritanical work ethic like it's a life raft. We work at home, at night, on the weekends, in between pitches of a little league game, FFS. There are a lot of things wrong with our country, but a generally poor work ethic isn't one of them.

I don't believe it's a troll, as I was once married to someone who was so far out of it she would behave in this way. Hard to believe I know, but such people exist and they are abusive of their spouses and children.
