Very average? She has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar three times and won once. She has also won three Golden Globes, two for Best Actress. I realize winning an Oscar doesn't automatically mean one is a good actress (cough, Julia Roberts, cough), but surely being nominated for so many awards must count for something, no?
Sorry, I disagree with you although I am not the PP. She's an average actress at best. Was always very average looking, albeit cute and girl-next-door-ish. Those awards shows are very political, meaning the studio and her agent lobbied hard to get her a nomination/win. When I say lobbied hard, I really mean invested a lot of money in her and/or the movie. It has nothing to do with talent. At all.
