Do you feel, Jeff, that Hezbollah and Hamas are freedom fighters, ie fighting for the freedom of the Palestinian people? Can you show me how these organizations view the concepts of freedom, especially in regards to religious freedom, freedom for women, freedom for homosexuals, etc?

Don't think he has a chance to be president, but it's refreshing to have a guy who doesn't pander to every group he talks to. When he saw the anti-Semitism emanating from some of the Arab "Christians" he was speaking to, he told them the truth. And the truth is that it is Muslims who are trying to kill Christians in the Middle East, not Jews. The Christians and Jews should be allies there - those in the audience that disagreed did so out of sheer bigotry, and 90% of Republicans will love that Cruz called them out on it.
Oh PUH-lease! Do you honestly believe that Israel would spare 1 life to save an arab christian in Syria or Iraq right now? Please refresh my memory - how many israelis have lost lives fighting to help other countries? I cannot recall.

Just in: #Lebanon Ambassador to Washington walked out on @SenTedCruz along with other dignitaries. It was "offensive".

#Lebanon Ambassador Antoine Shedid along with 3 Parliamentarians walked out on @SenTedCruz speech with him lecturing on Israel.
So, I think my theory that the Lebanese officials were offended by Cruz's pro-Israel remarks was correct. I have no idea what the other poster thinks.

oh that's right, all Arabs are the same. If they don't agree with Ted Cruz they must be terrorists. And you alone of all of us know what they're thinking. You're either very ignorant or a troll - can't decide which.Anonymous wrote:jsteele wrote:Apparently I will never learn why the other poster thinks the Lebanese diplomat's leaving was significant. You repeatedly mentioned that the diplomat walked out. What was significant about that? This is not a hard question. Why can't you answer it?

You answered it. Seriously?!?

He was offended because he represents a country that has been repeatedly attacked by Israel and Cruz called Israel the greatest friend of Christians. As a diplomat, he has to represent all Lebanese and -- as was seen -- not even the Christians consider Israel their greatest friend. But, you once again avoided explaining what you think was significant about his leaving.
Walking out as a diplomat isn't very...diplomatic
No, it's not. Cruz's speech wasn't very stateman-like, either. Or very Christian.
The event was something of a debacle. But it would have been fine if they'd had a different keynote speaker.

You should tell that to US and Israeli diplomats who constantly walk out of the UN when leaders they don't like get up to speak.
What did you say was significant about the diplomat's leaving?
