Re: pressure to buy products, my hairdresser is constantly doing this. She will have a "new, fantastic" shampoo or conditioner or brush which she bought at Sally's. It's irritating when I fall for this and get home and amazon.com the product and find out she's charged me double or triple what I paid. Also, I suspect she is not paying sales tax on the products she sells. So I am not buying any more stuff from her notwithstanding the hard sell.

Price. Before kids i went to $100+ for a cut salons but wont now. I would pay $75 or $85 if they were really amazing, but after trying many stylists in that tier, sadly they were no better than the stylists charging $50 or $60. So i stick to the less expensive salons. Wont go near a super cuts or hair cuttery.

I have never had a problem with feeling pressured to buy products, and i have been to many salons. I am surprised so many people have said they feel pressured.

The salon in McLean with the idiot receptionists who can't get anything straight and have attitude. And everyone knows they are the most recent bar pick-ups of the owner. And next time you call, "Trish" is gone because she's been replaced in the bedding cycle with "Pamela" so you have to start all over trying to book an appointment.
