What a silly post. I have 3 kids, youngest is 5, and never knew about portable potties. I think it would’ve given lots of peace of mind to have one in the trunk, especially during road trips! We had a few close calls, and their butts are just too small for most public toilets at 2-3 yo. Once they don’t have to touch everything just to stay on the toilet, public restrooms are fine.

My kid went through a potty training phase where he was scared of oublic bathrooms and needed a travel potty but fortunately he got over that hump quickly

My kid used it a ton during potty training. It’s less gross than public restrooms and less gross than diapers. It’s basically the most civilized way to go to the bathroom.

Many years ago, I kept one in the minivan and it was used just one time by my DD. I thought that I was extremely good in parenting hacks.
