I find Israeli military men hot, but not the frummy guys I see walking to shul on Georgia Avenue. Surely the same genetic group in broad terms? I have a bit of a uniform fetish though.
The pudgy, bespectacled Asian math TAs in my college days: Not hot. The 30-something 5'11" Chinese lifeguard at the pool last summer: Smokin'.
Middle height, middle-aged Italian American cops: pretty hot. Middle height, middle-aged Italian American apartment manager: no (and I think he knows it because he always looks so sad).

I do too! I have a big crush on Abhishek Bachchan. That man is sexy! I find most of the younger Desi men in Bollywood films extremely attractive. Unfortunately, I almost never see those types of men out in public here in DC. Now when I visit New York or Houston I see attractive Indian men all the time. I do have an Indian neighbor who is very hot. If we both weren't married, then I wouldn't mind hitting that a few times. LOL!

The Asian and white guys I dated had them and it's such a nice, masculine look. I don't like a bare face on any man. I used to date about 50/50 Black and Latino men when I was younger. I date more Black men than anything now lately. I have been told I prefer caramel men.

Yes, it's cultural.
Cultural to be wimps? Why is that?![]()
They are raised to be smart, industrious, rule followers. Working hard and playing by the rules isn't sexy in our culture. (I don't know enough about other cultures to say whether this is universal or just some sort of pathology of the American woman.)
PP here who's white married to an Asian. I guess people who like white men in America are equating "sexy" with "macho"? In my experience, white men are so full of macho bullshit that they are next to impossible to be with. My DH is very masculine in a way that doesn't require him to posture and act like a ridiculous, insecure masculine caricature like most white men I've dated. Because it's so "masculine" to insult women, drive super fast, play video games all the time, and pretend to hate being in a stable relationship.Ugh, just thinking of my experiences dating white guys makes me groan -- it was like dating 30-year-olds who were perpetually mentally 14.
What kind of white guys were you dating? If you're dating educated, UMC white men you shouldn't have these issues. Maybe the desirable ones weren't into you (which would explain you having to marry an Asian guy)

I don't care if I get flamed, but I want my kids to look like me (Scandinavian descent) and only dated people who wouldn't have super dominant genes. I'm not racist and have no problem with anyone daring whoever they want. For me it was just a preference.
Does anyone else find it weird to be thinking of what your kid will look like before you go on a date with someone?? Even weirder that you want them to only look like yourself?
