The impression I've gotten is that she's high strung and ... doesn't put out. They had big issues with having their second child because she wanted one but didn't want to have sex to "make" him. She is exhausted a lot despite having a full time housekeeper and nanny.

Does she work? I could understand exhaustion if her job was demanding. But if she is a SAHM with a nanny and housekeeper, OMG.

Being a mistress makes this a bit slimier. No girl power chant for you.
Why the judgement? Why can't 2 people be free to love the way they want? And who are you to judge?
But she says she doesn't love the guy. Just the lifestyle. So, basically, it's like prostitution with just the one guy, right?
By your right wing definition, SAHM = prostitute. Drop it; you don't want to go there.

I can't imagine sidelining my own life like that. You are young - you should be building your own life, not performing as this man's plaything.

He is.
Not to you?
Not to me. He was engaged when we met.
Wives are not "kept women".
A non-working wife with no children is a "kept woman" just as a non-working husband with no children is a "kept man".
The only difference is that the arrangement is sanctioned by law.
