Shockingly, these points are not luring additional applicants to your school, or giving the school a high yield of admitted students. Although I hear that it makes a lovely safety school for UVA applicants. And no, I didn't attend UVA, I just live in the real world.

So true.. It's one of the reasons we are leaving the backwards ACC. UNC just got caught graduating illiterate minority athletes for the last 25 years. They gave those kids no education what so ever. Umd and the Big 10 wouldn't ever graduate without any academic work.

I admit... I love Umd !! The national championships, the campus, the inside the beltway locale, whenever I see the muppets or Seinfeld , somebody wearing Underarmour or buy anything with the universal price code, or use google, or get gasoline or fly a plane, or see a Jumbotron , or hear about watergate , or see a Prius , or hear of a friend getting stents operation, or see weather radar on TV,

Umd also has huge installations of NASA,FDA.Homeland Security, Ratheon, American physics institute, national archives, center for international foreign language, the national weather prediction center, NOAA,
