"Well Jimmy is still drinking, the intervention we had in August failed. Larla failed her SATs so she will be attending community college next year, we can divert some of her college fund to other things...well what's left of it anyway since her father gambled away the rest on the trip to Vegas last April. Finally, we are happy to report that John will be granted parole at the beginning of the year, he has been on his best behavior these last years in prison.
Happy New Year Everyone".
Now, that's the kind of card that I will stick on my refrigerator.

Merry Christmas!

Oh no, say this isn't true....
Wow.. That is awesome! Lets be real, All of us who have give birth worry about tearing. Damn, she was keeping it real. I only neded one stitch and felt super happy my vag would heal and my perimeum was still in tact...it just never occurred to me to put that on a card. I would post that card up in my house or office all year long!!
I'm the one who posted this. Yes, the person who sent it is out there with her stuff. It's a bit much at times. We did not post it, but every Christmas, spouse and I find some way to work the phrase "perineum in tact" into the conversation.![]()
This is the best christmas card story ever.

I'm so sick of photo cards ( and I have cute kids who can pose for cards too) but they are so overdone. Won't send cards this year and don't care about getting them... Labels computer generated and no personal message.. Might as well be junk mail. I talk to and see the people I want to keep in touch with.
Yep. Straight to the trash.
+1 I wonder if people would still send their photo cards if they actually saw their face in a friend's trash can.
Despair not, people who send cards as described above. I would prefer for them to be more personalized, but at least I do not trash them. I look at them (and/or read them) and display them until the holiday season is over. I certainly do no throw them in the trash.
I trash them.
I do not trash them.
What do you do after the holidays? Do you send them out from shore on a sacred piece of driftwood with a small candle and an orchid? 'Cause that's what I do. It's a respectful homage to the rolled-up khakis and sandy toes featured in the "Christmas in Duck" themed card.

Me too.
Anonymous wrote:I like seeing the photos of people's kids, but hate the unnecessary letter describing every thing that the family did that year. Just put a nice photo on the card and sign it from your family!

Anonymous wrote:I used to send out a photo card every year, with only a short, if any, note on the back. But now that everyone sends those cards out, every year, it does seem a bit overdone.
This year I am just going to write cards to a few people I don't see often but want to keep in touch with, and maybe include a photo with the note.
