If this is life of the 6 figure person, screw that. I'm doing much better on my $63,000 a year. GENERIC SODA. WHAT EVEN. That's crap you don't even tell your priest in confession.

I make all of our meals, except for a couple nights every two weeks. I make my own sauces and buy frozen veggies instead of canned or fresh be/c the frozen are better for you and don't go bad like fresh. If I do buy fresh, I cut them up and freeze them. I shop at Sam's club for meat and portion it up with a meat scale. I clean my own house, do my own yard work, don't go out, stay in and watch netflix or cable, and play games with my family. NEVER BUY PRE DONE MEALS. They are horrible for you and are expensive for what you get.

our splurges are eating out once a week, getting sodas at work instead of taking my own water and mio, getting a manicure every 3 months, and cigarettes.

Non embarrassing thrift: don't own a car, Supercuts for me, I cut the kid's hair, have never had a manicure or pedicure in my life, let alone any kind of waxing or threading.

Thrift I don't mention publicly: I breastfed until 10 mos, kid is 3, but I am still wearing those nursing bras; rotate two pairs of work pants

Splurges: shop at Whole Foods, kid is in fancy toddler music class, no longer buy used clothing, books or furniture due to morbid fear of bedbugs

Well I KNOW I'm being nuts that's what makes it embarrassing! At least I am giving honest-to-goodness embarrassing stuff- buying crap on craigslist or using hotel soap is not embarrassing.

My DH gave me a hard time about this. It actually really ticked me off!

Most of the things I do have already been mentioned upthread:

Take complimentary toiletries home with me anytime I stay in a hotel. I keep them in a cute wicker basked in our guest room so visitors can help themselves. In a pinch, I use them too.
Use newspaper bags and grocery bags to pick up after my dog.
Make "fancy" coffee drinks at work using the flavored creamers they stock for us.
Extra ketchup, mustard, mayo packets from fast food places end up in my desk at work so if I bring a sandwich from home I can add them.
Furnished my home almost exclusively using Craigslist.
Stretch out my dry cleaning trips. I just don't see a need to dry clean my dress pants every time I wear them.
I have 3 bras that I rotate.
I make toys for my DD when I can.

To save money- we don't eat out very often. I cook dinner every night. Make coffee at home. Order books from the library. Watch movies at home. We don't drink alcohol.

Waste money/splurge- kids in lots of activities. Spend too much money to visit family. They live all over the country. I am bad about coupons and I always seem to be at the grocery store.

I use the bags that hold the newspaper for scooping kitty litter clumps.
I use plastic grocery bags to line small trash cans.
If I am thinking ahead, I will take an empty water bottle when I am traveling, fill it at a water fountain in the airport, and then I don't have to buy water.

Get books for nearly free on Paperbackswap.com.

Splurges: Gym membership is $140/month but it's worth it.
Twice a month housecleaner ($180/month).
Hire landscaping help as needed ($3K/year).
