A lot of people masquerade their anorexia as "clean eating" or some other kind of dogmatic diet. After a while, your body basically cannibalizes itself - it takes energy from your muscles, shuts down non-essential functions (ceases menstruation, hair loss, etc). When anorexics die, it's not from being too skinny - it's because of some kind of organ failure. The kidneys have no more energy to keep them functioning. Or the liver. Or the heart.


Her posted regiment is more like 1200-1300 a day. I could never do that on a consistent basis but it doesn't seem to be in the malnutrition category either.

And don't tell me she's naturally skinny - that's horseshit. She's gaunt and skeletal. Naturally thin people aren't gaunt. You gotta call it what it is - Giuliana Rancic is anorexic and has a severe eating disorder. It is not normal.

They may be doing things behind the scenes, but it is often really hard to get someone into treatment who is in denial. There are a bunch of thinspo pro-ana nuts on the web who worship her for the whole bobbleheaded stick look. Way to be a role model Giuliana!

I think her dress is pretty. I just feel sad for her because I've been there and it was a sad and lonely place.
