Yes, events in the United Arab Emirates are certainly very relevant to a discussion of whether MCPS should close on two major Muslim holidays. (And by "certainly very relevant", I mean "completely irrelevant".)


There are two peacocks fighting about who travels more outside of the united states and where they dare travel. Typical for DCUM. I don't think either of their feathers are all that pretty.

You would. But you are not everybody. Other people wouldn't. How many other people wouldn't? We don't know, and we can't find out, because the schools are closed on Yom Kippur.

I am sure that MCPS will start to close on Muslim holidays if the time comes that there are significant numbers of staff/students out on a given holiday. It's also not a matter of doing a "count" as it isn't "how many Jewish teachers/students?"....it's a matter of a pattern of absences.
