Not until I add this snazzy photo.

Now THIS is a stylin' bow. Traditional dressy outfit in southern Germany in the late 1800's. This isn't my photo, but I have pics of my own great grandmas wearing them.

Plus 1. The bigger the bow- the better the social/$$$ status!!!!

Nice of you, as an adult, to laugh at children because of what their mothers and fathers choose to decorate them with - even if it is inwardly. Stop judging people - different strokes for different folks...... and then let your own freak flag fly. After that, go find something important to focus on.

Cretin minions walk the earth of inner NVA proudly, sad as it is.

Haven't read this entire thread. It is a fucking bow people. Kids like them. We let the kids dress like absolute freaks right now, because. . .they can. Protected from the elements, warm, etc., but they look ridiculous. We have bigger battles to fight.

Why put your kid in a bow twice as big as her tiny head every single day? It looks ridiculous.

It shows care and attention to detail, plus some look super cute.

OP, me thinks you have bigger problems in life that this, especially since you're Russian?

I'm not into the big bow on babies but that last baby is absolutely darling!

Fashion is a matter of preference and personal style, so let's agree to disagree. I don't like what you put on your kids, you don't like the way I dress mine either.

I don't have strong positive or negative feelings about Lilly, but I hardly think you can claim that it's a "timeless" look.

A big red bow allows me to find my daughter in any crowd just like an orange ball cap in a city full of blue

Bows are cute only for the four and under set.

Just saw a southern fashion blog that said tween girls are now getting into big bows. Barf! (Plus those stupid bows are expensive.)

How is Lilly a thing? Time capsule material.

You don't know what I put on my kid. We do shop at Target and JC Penny's because that's what we can afford. Congrats on being upper class? Fashion is a matter of money and time, which I have neither of and you have plenty of it seems. I'd rather my girls be Target wearing, stringy haired little independent children than frilly vain and materialistic little stepford dolls.

Well said.

Moving on: Tell us how you feel about smocked dresses and seersucker, OP? What about madrass and Lilly Pulitzer? Or anything out of the Orient Expressed catalog (from NoLa)?

Don't live in Kensington but maybe I should! Love everything you mentioned and was so thrilled to get TWO daughters. I am from Richmond and agree it is a southern thing. They'll be dressing themselves soon enough.

I have no feelings for or against anything you listed.

However, now having a 7 month old boy, I suspect that once he's old enough to have likes/dislikes regarding his attire, I'll let him wear anything that makes him happy. I live to see that smile. And I imagine I would feel the same with a little girl. If she loved big, froofy bows, she'd be wearing big, froofy bows.

Why don't you try a big pink and green Lily bow on him and see how he likes it?

I don't think he "likes" or "dislikes" any clothing or accessories at this age, other than disliking things that are uncomfortable or irritating (like hats. he is not a fan of hats). And I'm not sure what it would accomplish to put something on him that I dislike when he doesn't have a preference.

But that doesn't really get to what you were implying. If he really wants to wear a bow on his head when he's old enough to indicate that, I'll let him.
