Honest questions: do you think all illegal immigrants get a TIN, and do you think the taxes they put into the system balance the cost of the services they get?

Just because a small percentage get a TIN does not mean they pay anything in federal/state taxes. That is for middle and upper class to pay. They receive a ridiculous amount of services that offset the amount that truly goes towards teachers, better schools, decreased class sizes, extracurriculars, etc... They send their kids for meals and babysitting so they can work their under the table jobs and send money back to their home country.

Slice the numbers and see for yourself what is driving the poor test scores, rampant budget increases, and additional teacher/aide hiring.
Here's a hint, it isn't your kid's needs or capabilities!

Our county’s population has grown more diverse over the past decade. Montgomery County’s Hispanic population grew at the fastest pace (64.4 percent), followed by Asian and Pacific Islanders (37.0 percent), Blacks (25 percent) and other minority groups (21.3 percent).
The 39.3 percent increase in all minority groups combined offset a 7.8 percent decline in the number of non-Hispanic Whites living in the county.
Minorities now account for more than half the population within Montgomery County.

Of course. It will only increase once the amnesty takes place and more people stream in here from the south. We are one of the top 5 places to migrate to because our taxes go to so many of their freebies.

Anonymous wrote:Yes the numbers are only for kids that took Algebra after middle school so they are kids that were never strong in math to start with..combined with the fact that numerically the test is irrelevant to kids that did well.
This is how 2.0 is supposed to close the gap.
The students who are good at math will no longer be able to accelerate in large numbers. Their scores will be co-mingled with students who do not do well in math. This will raise the overall scores and let MCPS claim success which is just plain wrong. The students doing poorly in math will receive no additional help, they will simply be hidden by the others.
