Pulling our money out of the market and stopping all discretionary spending.

If you think Obama is such a threat to your finances, why haven't you already done these two things? Last I checked, he's been in the White House for almost 4 years already.

It's plunging thanks to all the selfish sore loser rich Republicans liquidating their stock to save on capital gains. Soooo patriotic.
No kidding! Wish there was some advanced industrial nation that actually shared their values so they could all move there.

They are more deserving of a 3rd world dictatorship.

We are not going to hire anymore people in our family business..might actually lay a few off depending on how things go..too early to tell. I am also stopping all charitable giving..we are going to save that our money for our family and frankly the thank you I have gotten for giving so much has been electing Obama again. I am also going to take a hard look at businesses that have celebrated Obama.if I can take my money elsewhere..I will. Place number one Chef Geofs..no respecting Republican should eat there..sorry but that is how I feel.

Yes, please, stop your charitable giving, you'll need the money to pay your taxes.

Thanks for your very thoughtful tone but I think you are mistaken that there is some kind of inevitable leftward shift in the country due to demographics. I think that the Latino community would have been a natural constituency for the Republican Party and can still be one. Family values? Hard work? Freedom for small businesses from regulation? Protection for religious values? Encouraging individual initiative?

Interesting. I'm not the PP you are responding to you but years ago (20?) the attributes you list were associated with the Republican party but now those attributes are not part of their dialogue or what most voters think of when you say Republican. I think that the Dems now own "hard work" and even "small business" as Republicans are primarily associated with large corporate interests that have hurt or been in opposition to small business owners. I think Reps have also lost the "freedom of religion" as they appear to only pushing their own evangelical religion. Family values has completely been left on the platform and its more of a religious based anti abortion and anti gay message.

Interesting article on how the Romney campaign failed to consult with the experts who helped Bush reach out to the Latino community. Romney's campaign sounds pretty clueless here. Interestingly enough, one of the experts says that Romney probably should have run even harder on the illegal immigration issue because it was easier to get white votes that way at this point than to try to get Latino votes. But overall, doing effective outreach to Latinos has to be a central and carefully-thought-out part of the campaign, not just a photo op and tv commercial in awkward Spanish. A thoughtful piece.

Apparently, the right's thinking (of course) is that they weren't conservative ENOUGH. And they have a new term for minority voters: the "dependency demographic." From RedState.com:

http://www.redstate.com/2012/11/07/to-the-extent-that-conservatism-was-on-the-ballot-it-was-not-defeated/

"The bottom line is that the dependency demographic has grown, and they will be dead-set against any Republican, as witnessed by Romney’s performance. Moderating our stance on one or two issues will not fundamentally alter the calculus of the youth vote. If they are inexorably against us because of social issues, that same culture that drives them to the dark side of morals will entrench them into an incorrigible sense of entitlement and dependency."

The "dark side of morals"? Seriously?????

I love how this has morphed into "Well, you won and I hope you can run the country but I'm not expecting you to do it well." We seemed to have completely skipped the step about: "Gee, how did we lose an election that we should have and could have won?"

The Republicans should have won this election. You folks screwed up. So stop moping about as if it's the twilight of the American ideal and you're going to go quietly off into your little corner while it disappears. Be a grownup and accept some responsibility for the situation.
