Not the PP who said the system was ridiculous, but uh, it is. The prosecutor, Giuliano Mignini, is being investigated for prosecutorial misconduct during her trial and was investigated BEFORE her trial for misconduct. It's really not hard to Google and find this information, and it was widely reported during and after the trial how poorly the Italian justice system was handling things.
