actually, I don't think biking is really important when it comes to "walkability" they are really separate concepts.

I wonder if they consider bike paths when calculating these scores?

I live in a "walkable" area, but nobody talks or interacts. You are not missing much.

Really? Because I walked to the spray-on tan place on P st in Dupont all of the time.

I thought so too, I used to live in West End and could relate to what the PP was saying about her Clarendon neighborhood, I thought she was around Dupont/Foggy/east village in DC. Minus schools... that's what threw me off, so I asked.

I left the east village/west end for the public schools--ended up in Clarendon. WFs, traders, gyms, metro, etc. they are similar in that aspect. I didn't want to lose the walkability that I did have in the west end east. Plus-still very close to W.E. so go back to visit frequently.

Used to live in west end too, but unfortunately cannot afford Clarendon. Moved to Mclean close to downtown and drive to DC all the time, because I just don't find it appealing to walk around downtown Mclean. Plus, we have family in the city and have a reason to drive there every weekend. One day if I can afford living in a walkable Metro accessible suburb like Arlington, I would move there.
