You folks have too much time on your hands. I don't know or give a shit what a quilted jacket is or why anyone could possibly care who wears one.

I'm certain that a link to DCUM is now included with the definition for "catty" in the dictionary.

The quilted jacket will soon be this generation's grandma wear.

Aren't they for old women? My mom probably wears them.

I just saw a youngish (28 or so) woman walk into a meeting today, wearing a quilted jacket. I thought she looked great.

It just feels like me, I'm comfortable, and no one else around me really does so it is almost like my own style now and people say " that is so you. "

Where do you live that no one else around you wears quilted jackets or cardigans? I'm not trying to be mean here, but I just cannot imagine anywhere in the DC area where you don't see a ton of women wearing these items.

Not the above poster, but of similar age and style. Trust me, not many of my hipster neighbors wear either.

So, you think the first quoted PP is a hipster or perhaps is the only nonhipster who lives in Logan Circle? Hmmm . . . not quite how I picture her, but it's a nice idea to think about all her hipster neighbors humoring her with "that is so you".

This is something my Granny would wear.

This is my thought exactly. It looks like an old lady jacket. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

And no, I don't know anyone who has a jacket like this. Of course, I don't live in upper NW, either. I'm in a rather lower-rent zipcode.

"Every story has a bead" or is that one of the other bead/charm bracelets? It seems like it would be so much work to remember which bead went with which "story" or "special moment". And what if you only have like 4 beads. Would people think you didn't have enough special moments?

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let's not get all crazy. Drive over to Arlington? I'll just stay on the key bridge and watch.

I love it when my wife wears that with nothing underneath. Love preppy women.

Most women's fashion is one or another type of uniform. It signals who you belong with.

This made me giggle. Thank you! Until this thread I never pondered quilted jackets.

I would not look good in a quilted jacket and even I made more money I would not shop at Burberry-too expensive. I have no problem with people shopping there as long as they can afford it and aren't then begging for bail out money or using up all the child support or something.

I think they are hysterical. They are terribly unflattering completely lacking in style. The only reason people wear are because they are expensive.

Burberry trenches are a classic and I love those. I wish all the really hot young women would wear them and not just old ladies.

It adds ten years to anyone wearing it.

Not classic, not elegant, just dowdy.
