There would have to be some pretty extreme extenuating circumstances for the girl's parents to be able to sue OP and get judgment against her for child support.

No, the grandparents are NOT on the hook.
You are incorrect.
But grandparents can be sued

That is how it was when the year was 1960.
Now the law has changed and women are protected.
The child support will be at least $1000. There is a minimum that a man must pay regardless of if he has income or not.

This isn't true. In DC, if you make less than $7500 a year, the minimum child support obligation is $50 a month. If a person makes up to $15,000, it's set at 20% or $3,000 a year. That's $250 a month. It doesn't go up very much from there.
Yes, the woman still bears the brunt of raising a child.
If she and her parents are smart, she will have an abortion. Her parents are going to insist she break up with the boyfriend and put her on the pill and IUD. There is no good in this situation for this girl unless she has an abortion.
Pill AND IUD? Troll much?
I'm not a troll and condoms do not prevent pregnancy, do they? Their primary purpose is to stop the spread of STDs. You're damn right, I would go with two forms of birth control because I know that she isn't going to suddenly abstain and I wouldn't want her pregnant again until she was grown and married.

I don't think a girl who has to make this decision should have unrealistic expectations about what financial support may come her way, should she decide to continue the pregnancy. The boy who got her pregnant does not have much of a job and for all she knows, might not finish college. So his support might not be all that much, for quite a while. Minimum wage earnings, perhaps. If that's OK with her, then it's OK with her -- and obviously she will get a job too -- while hopefully continuing to go to school, through taking out loans, etc.
Cannot get out of paying child support just because you are young or in school
The money will be enough to get by. Boy will just have to work harder and earn more, or the grandparents will be on the hook
