Another question is what generation are you? Most immigrants assimilate into the US culture and by the second generation they are more like Americans than their original culture. I noticed with some of the more recent Chinese Americans that I know they seem to place more emphasis on their sons than daughters. I did not say all and I do not want to start a cultural war but there are difference based on when your family migrated here. This is the dame for most Americans, Italians, Irish, you name the culture.
