It is monstrous, and you people have pretty fucked up value systems. I bet you call yourselves Christians.
It's monstrous to spank a child with a belt? Sorry, but I find using your hand much more grievous.
BTW, I find it interesting that the folks against spankings are the most filthy-mouthed, quick-tempered posters....yet they call those who spank monstrous, violent, etc. Oh, the irony.
Anonymous wrote:I really wish the posters saying that they spanked their kids would get off this thread. It's really making me sick. Physical punishment is abuse. Why use it when there are so many other types of discipline you can use? What century do you live in?

Last time I checked, using the word "f*ck" didn't result in bruises, pain, scrapes, etc. The real irony is thinking you are a better person - after causing physical harm to your child - because you don't cuss.
I am not one who thinks that the beating in the video is in any way justified, however emotional / verbal abuse can be extremely damaging as well. Many deep wounds and scars are not physical in nature.

The guy in the video was probably a "time-out" parent in the teenager's youth and is switching tactics. IME, children who were spanked appropriately in their younger years are respectful of their parents as they aged, so the need to spank teenagers would be rare indeed. I was spanked with a belt as a child and can't remember ever getting disciplined past the age of 10 or 11.

I don't think it's okay to beat ANYONE with a belt. Little kid, medium kid, adult, etc. It's wrong.

"Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me?"
Do you feel comforted when beaten with a stick?
