May I ask if you don't mind, what materials you submitted to the appeal? I'm sending and appeal and trying to think what materials to send over when they ask for it. I have talked to the search teacher and the portfolio they sent wasn't impressive at all. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Last numbers I read were 17% for Fairfax and 11% for Loudoun, but those are 2013 numbers, I think.

WOW. 2 out of 3 COGAT subtest 97 or above..Even Fairfax county dont have that .For them its only one out of 3 subtests
Even MENSA considers if COGAT composite is 99% above and they don't consider subtests
So getting into SEARCH through COGAT alone is tough

Yes, Thats what I meant..FCPS considers if one gets composite of 132 and one of three subtests to have 97% not two of 3 subtests
LCPS considers if one gets composite of 132 and two of 3 subtests should be 97 percentile or above
Actually LCPS doesn't care about composite. It's two scores 97 or higher of the following 4 scores: the 3 CogAT sub scores & the NNAT score. Any 2 of these 97 or higher is in pool.

Is he in 2nd? You can't do anything until he takes the NNAT in fall of 3rd. They send pool letters in spring of 3rd.
Yes. He is in 2nd grade and 7 years old.

When his COGAT scores were 95%,99%,98% how did he get over all 98% and 132.It should be 99 percentile and 134 above.
I'm assuming because of his age. His birthday month is October and he is one of the oldest in his class. Its my guess.
May be. I am new to these things. I will email to SEARCH coordinator at school and find out more information

Verbal-115,
Quants-150,
Nonverbal -120,
Overall -Composite - 138 Percentile - 99 Age Stanine - 9
He is 7 years old and in second grade

Not true for FCPS. The cogat benchmark score is a 132 composite. It is not sufficient for you to score a 132 in one subtest to be in pool.

He gets good grades but he distract the class by playing with his buddies and brought a note from teacher many times therefore I don't think his teacher will recommend him to futura.
We only filled out sigs and did not turned in any additional work.

Those are good scores. This is anecdotal, but the boy across the street from me is in Futura and he is a holy terror!! So that alone does not rule a kid out!
