Have you ever wondered if you are an embarrassment to your mother? I bet you are. In any case, it is such a dreadful thing to say that the woman who gave you life, undoubtedly sacrificed a lot for you, loves you unconditionally, and would give her life for you, and yet you are embarrassed by her. Shame on you. One day your children will feel the same about you because they are learning from your example.

I wish everyone would calm down there really is some mean stuff going round here we are meant to be here to answer this person's feelings and thoughts. Anyways I think you should just send her a message or email saying how you feel about her embarrassing you on facebook or just say to her "Mum, please can you stop posting stuff to my friends on Facebook and why are you adding my ex's as well." if that does not work then I guess you'll have to delete her as a friend or put her on limits hope everything works out between you and your Mum.

Getting back to OP's original topic... I feel for you OP. My mom doesn't 'get' facebook but uses it a lot. She is a total gossip and will post the latest to my wall never realizing that the people she is talking about are often facebook friends with both of us! I am constantly deleting her posts and calling to tell her Uncle Frank doesn't want the world knowing he cancelled plans because he had diarrhea or that so and so is getting fatter and you wonder if they're pregnant. Whenever I try to remind her she gets defensive and tells me she has nothing to hide.

I love this quirk of my mom's, but I still want to protect her from offending or embarassing someone!

You're lucky your mother is still alive. Mine died when I was in my 30s and never even got to meet all of my children. You should be thankful, not embarrassed.

Getting back to the original topic, I wish my mom would join FB. Hell, I wish she would just check e-mail once in awhile.

Our entire family is on FB and we are all constantly posting pictures, updates, etc. so we are pretty well-aware of what is going on in each others' lives. My mom is constantly saying how she is the last know things or is kept out of the loop because she isn't on FB. Get an account!!! You have a computer, you have an e-mail address, you have an internet connection--that's all you need. We would all be happy to friend her and then she can see every detail of my boring life---along with all 300 of my "friends".
