I always wonder how people could said stuff like that without even knowing the school.
Marginal? Terrible academic reputation? Please....
My son went to mercy and he was accepted in GP,GZ. SJ and sidwell with academic scholarships in all schools but GP.
Last year eighth graders (20 kids)got close to half a million dollars in scholarship for the best schools in the area. (See the list in the other posts)
How a bunch of rich, marginal and academics underperforming kids can get those results?pleaseee if you do not know what are you talking about shut up.
Dear Catholic Mafia,
Sorry, but it's true. Look at the college matriculation list. Pretty embarrassing list of colleges.

Heard some big donors are leaving. Also a few teachers have resigned shortly after Ms. Hosmer's departure. Probably not a good time to consider Mercy for your children.
Well, the pastor has been fired. The children and teachers will be happier and morale will improve. Mercy will be fine.
Really?? When? Why? I know Ms. Hosmer retired but nothing about Father John....

Graduates have been accepted to the following outstanding high schools:
Academy of the Holy Cross
Bullis
Connelly School of the Holy Child
Georgetown Preparatory School
Georgetown Visitation
Gonzaga College high School
The Heights
Holton Arms
Our Lady of Good Counsel
St. John's College High school
Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart
and
Kingswood Oxford, Northwest Catholic, The Ethel Walker School,
and Westminster School, Connecticut
Not bad for a very small schools...
That's only cause these high schools have a quota to fill with all the parochial schools including OLOM. My public school son is outperforming your OLOM alumnus in one of these high schools. tells me OLOM has a long way to go. And yes, the cliques are just sickening.
What quota?
what high school are you talking about?
If you have spent any time reading about Catholic HS admissions, the high schools tend to admit a certain number from each parish school. Just to throw out some random numbers, Gonzaga may admit up to 2 from Mercy, GP up to 3, Visitation up to 3, etc. So it is inevitable that Mercy 8th graders will be admitted to these schools regardless of their test scores, grades, etc.

Agree... the school is in bad shape.
I do not know whats going on at mercy now but I do know that the school is fantastic in the academic side. The problem are the clicks ,gossips, snobbism and internal SAHM wars. Typical Potomac/Bethesda stuff
