Did you see the number of youth national team id players that came from GA recently? US soccer is starting to roll out its plan. Maybe this time they wont try to implement free soccer. I could see a situation where NWSL stops looking at new locations and free stadiums and refocuses on player quality.

On the latest YNT roster, 6 of 24 players are from GA.

US Soccer did play politics (roster was half GA/half ECNL) on the last trip for that age group though and the team got punished. Probably won’t make that mistake again.

It wasn't the GA girls that got the team punished.

What happened to have anyone get punished?

They might be insinuating the U-15 Girls YNT recent Loss 2-1 to Germany and 4-1 to the Netherlands, in May, as a punishing failure resulting in having too many GA or ECNL players on the team. However, amateur keyboard warriors look at scoreline alone. By US Soccer own accounting, the matchups were quite even in terms of stats. Despite that, they did cite multiple defensive errors that resulted in game going 4-1 to favor the Dutch.

Haha good excuse.

The only failure is US Soccers inability to field 11 players out of a pool of thousands.
