And, it's already growing algae. They made it worse, not better.

Also as a lifelong DC resident, I assure you that the rest of America hates spending money on this stuff and I can’t believe he’s going to events in Wisconsin speaking to farmers getting crushed by tariffs, gas prices and fertilizer shortages and waving pictures of how great the reflecting pool looks now. Just bonkers.

The pool looks better than before, and at a very reasonable cost.
How long will it last that way? Let's wait and see.

PP, you don't know the difference between a repair and a renovation. A renovation is a vanity project based on desire. A repair is a necessity based on a requirement. The REPAIRS Obama received APPROVAL from Congress to use to add structural linings, upgrade the infiltration process, reduce the algae, and repair cracks. Now I don't have a problem with Trump's vanity projects because they make the city look better. My problem is the sole source contracting to friends and family at costs well beyond industry norm. Who is getting the kickback?
It is an HGTV Reno meaning it looks good, but it will fall apart in weeks, so I do have a problem with the vanity projects. They aren’t done correctly and will look HORRIBLE in a very short period of time.
I think that's the whole point, they are *expensive* but it's obvious the money isn't really going into the actual project.
