What’s wrong with WL and Wakefield?
Nothing. It's a prejudice or "feeling of superiority" based on social and economic class/status. There are families who simply find W-L and Wakefield unacceptable.
I think there is a prejudice because Wakefield is in LA, while WL is diverse as well.
It's all relative however. W-L has more affluent white students than most FCPS schools. But in Arlington's cloistered world, the smugness (among a small group) is typically associated with Yorktown. FCPS parents at wealthy but more diverse schools like McLean and Langley see this attitude in the stands and other community events.

Ok. The big teen drunk driving crash that happened
about 18 months ago which killed a teenager, the parents supplying the alcohol to the teens involved was a W-L family known widely for having house parties for teens and supplying alcohol.
This is a dumb game. Worry about your own kids. If people somehow think this stuff won't happen to them at one of the high schools, you're delusional.
Boom.
Are you proud that you aren’t the only parent serving alcohol to minors

If you’re playing against an Arlington school, or just watching a game, you know that the Wakefield families are always far and away the nicest.
It's because we have had years of people reacting in horror at sending our kids to SA elementary and middle schools. "Oh, does he see a lot of fights?!"
It helps you develop a sense of humor.
I have never heard anyone say that or react in horror. If you're hanging around this type of person, says something about you.
??? I heard this many times at sports games, it wasn't a choice to hange around them, just luck of team assignments
can we just stay on track with the conversation?
This is travel sports then? I don't know my kid plays travel soccer and no one is saying these things on the sidelines. If they are, don't sit with the other parents. Plenty of people do that.
No, rec sports. I have met plenty of lovely families from all over Arlington sitting in the stands...and a handful of snobs.
Rec sports are organized by your school. You're sitting with the opponent's parents?
A handful? You just said you've heard it many times.
This is why the generalizations are a bad idea.
Little league pulls from multiple schools
