This is sport for children not the major league. No idea how someone so full of hatred has so much responsibility around children.
KL is an emotionally immature man with a huge ego and an explosive temper. He is verbally abusive to the children he is supposed to be teaching and guiding.

I think best to not go in the ages with KL though because these always seem to go very bad with treatment and not nice for the players with lots of anger, and sets a bad example to them. Lots of the players did not get better and lost confidence because of. The team got much worse.
KL does get his kids to compete and play hard but it’s borderline abbusive. Some kids respond well.

what criteria have you used?
MR is calm, allows players to problem solve in games and dosent over coach/joystick.
MR coaches to win but also understands the importance of learning through mistakes and dosent berate.
He focuses on technique drills in practice combined with game speed/competative/ possession based drills that combines technique and decision making.
Most importantly hes been with the club for over a decade and is invested in the club and player's development.
MR and KL are the strongest coaches in the u12 and under divisions.
KL is in a different league. MR has no business coaching the younger age groups and yes, I have heard this from both PSA boys' and girls' parents who have one kid at PSA with MR (P1) and one at a different club such as Bethesda or a VA club. I am so sorry for you and your child if you think MR is a competent coach or a good person. Given the state of youth soccer in the DMV, it would be ok if he was one or the other, but he is neither.

I can tell you myself being a Potomac parent with one at Potomac and one at another club, MR seems to be widely liked and highly regarded. I’ve never heard a bad word against him until this silly and needlessly negative anonymous pot. In the world of soccer, which can be highly fraught with big feelings, that’s saying a lot. Seems like a nice even keeled dude.
What?
He doesn’t seem to be a bad person but it’s difficult to train 25 kids by yourself.
I took my DS to a u8 practice with 80 kids and one coach at another club. Kids that want to learn will.
